Bruno Henrique has opened up on speculation he could leave Flamengo after impressing for the Brazilian giants during their run to the Club World Cup final. The 28-year-old’s performance against Liverpool on Saturday convinced some Reds fans to ask the club to sign him up during the January transfer window. Bruno Henrique has enjoyed an incredible year since joining Flamengo from domestic rivals Santos, helping the Rio de Janeiro-based side win the Brazilian top flight title and Copa Libertadores - which is South America’s equivalent of the Champions League. Yahoo claimed earlier this month that Chinese side Shanghai SIPG are interested in prising Bruno Henrique away from Flamengo in a deal worth around £24m (€28m). Bruno Henrique, however, poured cold water on speculation a deal is in the pipeline after shining against Liverpool in Saturday’s 1-0 Club World Cup final defeat.
