Jeremy Jacobs is promising to pay hourly TD Garden employees if games are officially canceled. Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula is the only other NHL owner who’s promised to pay game-day employees on the condition of the contests getting canceled, rather than during the work stoppage. Every NBA team, including the Celtics, who are tenants of the Garden, has pledged to compensate game-day workers as well. One would think that nominal figure isn’t worth the PR beating, especially since a GoFundMe for Garden workers started by Bruins fans has raised nearly $41,000. His game-day workers need checks in their hands now — not months down the line.
