Bruce Springsteen condemns Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown in new song ‘Streets of Minneapolis’

American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen, aka The Boss, on Wednesday released a new song, Streets of Minneapolis, condemning President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown in Minnesota’s largest city. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbours and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good,” the 20-time Grammy-winning musician wrote on Instagram. “And there were bloody footprints / Where mercy should have stood / And two dead, left to die on snow-filled streets / Alex Pretti and Renee Good,” the lyrics further read. Launched in December 2025, this operation has deployed approximately 2,000 to 3,000 federal agents to the Minneapolis–St. In his newly released song, Springsteen also slammed the Trump administration's claims that federal agents acted in self-defence when they shot Good and Pretti.
