The incident took place around 8:30pm on Thursday in the area surrounding the Shia Mosque, according to Iftekhar Hasan, chief of Mohammadpur Police Station. The wounded men, Abul Hossain and his brother Mahbub Hossain, were rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for treatment. The shooting stemmed from a conflict involving Abul, who was the president of the committee, and another group following the recent change of government, said Iftekhar, citing locals. Efforts are underway to identify the shooters, he added.
