The concept of the broken violin came from Kyle Dillingham, an American violinist with a passion for skateboarding. Before arriving in Thailand, he had created an album called Broken Beyond Repair, referring to a box of broken violins in a junk pile. US violinist Kyle Dillingham, whose broken violin concept forms the basis of the show.
