Photographs from beaches across the UK show sun starved people revelling in the sea and sand. The rush to get the beach has been so intense that some cars have been turned away while trying to park up. And Lyme Regis in Dorset was a riot of colourful parasols and windbreakers as far as the eye could see. It seems that everybody got the memo that this Bank Holiday Monday was going to be one to remember weather-wise. The scorching weather has ensured even those without ready beach access are finding ways to cool off in the water.
