The son of a former colonial minister wants the High Court to release him on Sh70 million bond, which the DPP opposes. Briton Jack Wolf, held over a Sh598 million cocaine haul, yesterday put up a spirited fight to be released on bond. The DPP seeks to have the Sh70 million and Sh60 million bond granted to Wolf and Mwanthi, respectively, be cancelled. “Even the most serious crimes like murder and robbery with violence are bailable, unless there are compelling reasons,” Ombija said. He wants the two locked up until their trial is completed, on grounds that the charges they face are serious.
