Sutthipong was found about 100 metres from a traditional massage parlour where he allegedly stole the smartphone from John's girlfriend, Pimphan Sathong, 29. Pimphan said she was waiting for John at the massage parlour when Sutthipong came in to inquire about the service. Five minutes later, Pimphan realised her iPhone X had been taken from the desk, so she alerted her boyfriend. John then rode his motorcycle to look for the suspect and found him about 100 metres away. The Briton told police he would waive the physical assault charge out of sympathy for the suspect.
