Zainab Mughal’s blood type is so unusual that only three matching donors have been found: two in her native America and one in Nottingham. The toddler, who lives in Florida, had neuroblastoma diagnosed this year after her mother noticed a lump on her stomach. Her treatment will require multiple blood transfusions, but tests revealed that Zainab was missing an antigen called Indian B. Her father, Raheel Mughal, said that Zainab needed more blood within weeks before she had surgery.
