Around 1.5 million British Gas customers are enjoying a smart tariff or proposition from the supplier, meaning they save on their energy bills off-peak. PeakSave Green Flex events allow customers to benefit from half-price electricity during two-hour windows when it is very sunny or windy and there is lots of renewable energy available. The discount is available to new and existing PeakSave customers, and all savings will appear as a credit on customers’ energy bills. So far, British Gas has paid over £30 million to over 1.3 million customers taking part in the scheme.
