THE British Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (BCCP) called for the immediate passage of the amendments to the Retail Trade Liberalization Act (RTLA), Foreign Investments Act (FIA), and the new Public Service Act (PSA). "The key wishlist that we've been advocating along with the British embassy is the passage of the RTLA, FIA, and the PSA. The administration has certified these bills as urgent and we obviously would like to see a reference in the SONA," said Nelson. "That would then give a distinct push to drive the passage of these bills in 2021. The reason we are highlighting these and looking forward to these is if those bills are passed, we are confident that these will further give rise to an increase in foreign direct investments," he added.
