A British Airways spokeswoman said the pilot was forced to turn around when a passenger was 'taken ill'. Last week a British Airways flight from Heathrow to Boston was forced to divert to Shannon, Ireland when fumes filled the plane. The pilot had issued a 'pan-pan' alert, which is used to indicate a problem on board that must be dealt with urgently.
