The woman, in her 60s, reportedly died an hour after the London-bound flight left Hong Kong, but the pilot decided against turning back or making an emergency landing. Crew members are said to have had no option but to store the corpse at the back of the plane, which has a heated floor. But, to put it bluntly, if a passenger has already died, that is not viewed as an emergency. According to International Air Transport Association guidelines, if a passenger dies mid-flight, their body should be placed in a body bag or covered with a blanket up to the neck.
