Britain's daily Covid death toll has halved in a week, official figures revealed today. Promising statistics show Covid deaths in England and Wales have dipped below 1,000 for the first time since October. Other measures of Covid deaths published by the ONS including registrations — when deaths are officially recorded — are yet to cross this threshold.
