Britain's best beaches have been named - did your favourite make the list?


St Mawes beat more than 100 rivals, scoring 85 out of 100 in a poll of 4,146 holidaymakers by consumer watchdog Which? It achieved five out of five stars for scenery, seafront and tranquillity, pushing Devon’s Dartmouth into 2nd spot with Southwold, Suffolk. Traditional bucket-and-spade town Skegness came bottom at No 105 with just 44%. It scored a feeble one star in seven out of eight categories, including value for money. Visitors were asked to rate the resorts across eight categories – beach, seafront and pier; food and drink; attractions; scenery; shopping; peace and quiet, and value.
