Calvin Harris and The 1975 took home two gongs each at the 39th Brit Awards as female artists were snubbed. After 16 nominations in 10 years, Scottish DJ Harris won not one but two awards – for One Kiss and British producer of the year. Alternative rock band The 1975 were named best British group for a second time, two years after they first picked up the prize. They won British album of the year and best British group. Similarly, Lipa shared the prize for best single, with Harris while Jorja Smith won in earnest, claiming British female solo artist.
