Photo: BIGSTOCKThere is no shortage of the benefits a fast internet connection providesIt is extremely encouraging to hear the words of the Prime Minister’s ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy, as he talks about bringing all people of Bangladesh under internet coverage. The ruling party’s Digital Bangladesh manifesto deserves to be singled out for praise in this case, as it is the tireless diligence employed by the authorities concerned that have seen a manifold increase in overall internet facilities provided to the people. However, despite internet connectivity being at a considerably better place than it used to be even a decade ago, there remains a significant number of people who do not enjoy the benefits that come with having a good internet connection. There is no shortage of the benefits a fast internet connection provides, and the stakeholders responsible for making this vision into a reality must ensure that this is the case. In order for our country to truly embody its Digital Bangladesh vision, the government’s plan to provide fast and reliable internet facilities for all the people of this country will be an integral component.
