Take cardboard, add an ink pad, a glob of peanut butter, some people to check for footprints and you have a new wetland monitoring programme. TORIKA TOKALAU-CHANDRA/STUFF Associate Environment Minister Scott Simpson, centre, launched the three-year programme at Rutherford College on July 3. The tracking tunnels were made simply out of a cardboard box with an ink pad and a slab of peanut butter. "The peanut butter attracts pests, and the ink pad allows these pests to leave their footprints behind so we can determine what pests leave in the area," Waitakere Community's Chris Burton said.
