The same film which almost swept all awards at the last Metrlo Manila Film Festival (MMFF) also won for him Best Director and Best Picture as producer, including a nomination in the design department. The film “Verdict” sent this year to the Oscars Best International Feature category was executive produced by Mendoza’s film outfit Center Stage Productions. Early on, said film won the Special Orizzonti Jury Prize at the 76th Venice Film Festival held in Lido, Italy. What Director Mendoza truly needs is a good damn realistic acting onscreen from his actors and nothing else. He has walked his talk with Jaclyn Jose and Judy Ann Santos winning international acting awards from A-list film festivals abroad.
