Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC's) health department on Friday recorded 12 suspected cases of leptospirosis from across south, central and western wards of the city. With the rains on the rise, the number of lepto cases are expected to go up. "We were expecting lepto cases as there were heavy rains in the past few days. "One must not ignore fever," cautioned Dr Nandu. Someone with a cut walking through such water could be at danger," said Dr Vijay Nandu, general physician, Bhatia Hospital.
