Sir, Matthew Parris sums up the current Brexit situation concisely and accurately (“The Brexit blame game has already begun”, Nov 10). The next step needs to be a second referendum. No one voted for the position we are now in, which is that whatever deal we get will be worse than our current situation. Those who voted for Brexit believed that a deal would be negotiated to put the UK in what they regarded as a better place. The UK asked to leave; the EU made it clear it did not wish us to and is protecting the institution.
