Niall Muldoon, the children’s ombudsman, said young people were keenly aware of the effects of Brexit MAXWELLPHOTOGRAPHYChildren have urged British and Irish politicians to ensure that their opportunities for work, travel and study are not limited by Brexit, according to a report published today. It’s Our Brexit Too makes 35 recommendations to prevent young people in Ireland and the UK from being negatively affected by Brexit. It was produced after a cross-border conference in Newry last November that was organised by a steering group from across the island of Ireland. The report gives the views of 120 young people from both sides of the island, outlining considerations that should feed into decisions on education, child protection, freedom of movement, family life and healthcare. A group of young people will hand the report to Brexit MPs and officials in Westminster today.
