As a result, some have delayed spending decisions or changed their U.K. investment plans. “Companies are waiting for the outcome of the [Brexit] negotiations,” says Terry Scuoler, head of the EEF, a British manufacturers’ association. “Making the car somewhere else could alienate some of our customers.”Yet Brexit may affect the car maker’s investment decisions in other ways, he says. And indeed, in a few instances, the Brexit vote has led to U.K. investments that might not have happened otherwise.
