Brexit Jitters Trigger ETF Outflows

Brexit effect: Lipper’s Detlef Glow says the U.K. fund market had net outflows of nearly €47 billion in the first eight months of this year. Vanguard FTSE Europe ETF (VGK) absorbed net outflows of $405 million in September amid continuing political turmoil in the U.K. as the government wrestled with how to leave the European Union. The outflows from VGK reduced the fund’s assets to $12.7 billion at the end of September, according to a Vanguard spokesman. The spokesman declined to comment on the fund’s asset flows.
