Following public backlash, Hughton was fired and was paid $68,904 in compensation, further burdening the nation financially. The GFA eventually parted ways with him just months before the World Cup and is set to pay $500,000 in compensation. Altogether, the government disclosed that compensation paid to coaches under Kurt Okraku’s administration amounts to $805,904.
