A woman who lost a relative lights candles outside a church after a Mass for the victims of a mine dam collapse in Brumadinho, Brazil, Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019. The dam failure unleashed a surge of mud that buried buildings adjoining the dam and several parts of the nearby city of Brumadinho. The tailings, which contain toxic levels of iron oxide, plastered 252 hectares (623 acres) of Brumadinho and the Paraopeba River. The tailing is expected to reach the Retiro Baixo dam between Feb. 5 and Feb. 10. A peaceful walk in homage to the victims is expected to take place later Friday in the city center of Brumadinho.
