Brazilian minister quits in case that implicates president

Brazil’s President Michel Temer leads a meeting with state governors at Planalto presidential palace in Brasilia, Brazil, Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016. Governors are asking for economic help from the federal government as the country suffers its worst recession in decades. Temer’s administration has lurched from one scandal to the next, but until now, none has directly implicated the president. Temer’s spokesman said Thursday night that the president simply intervened to arbitrate a dispute between Cabinet members. Lima is the sixth minister in Temer’s government to resign amid allegations of corruption.
