The Brazilian men’s national football team could miss the next World Cup, FIFA has warned. World football’s governing body is considering excluding the Verdeamarelha from all international competitions following the destitution of Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) president Ednaldo Rodrigues. FIFA sent the CBF a letter with the support of the South American football confederation, Conmebol. Should this happen, Brazil would find itself with many national teams who aren’t part of FIFA and are therefore unable to compete in the World Cup and other official competitions sanctioned by football’s governing body. In 2017, FIFA suspended the Malian Football Federation (FMF) after considering there was “undue interference” by the country’s government.
