Mayor Lielson Landin said six robbers launched the attack on two banks before dawn in the city. The six were reportedly killed in a fierce shoot-out with police. Five hostages were also killed, including a child. The Military Police reportedly fired shots to contain the 'gang' involved in the incident, reports Correio Braziliense. Police had already been investigating the gang involved in that attempted attack and intercepted the latest bank hit, Correio Braziliense reports.
