Two men who were spending time on the beach with the families noticed to two teenage girls in difficulty and entered the water to save them. Another beach-goer who was also present at Silver Stand said one of the men had a buoyancy aid as they entered the water to help the two girls. She said: 'Those girls would be dead if it wasn't for the quick thinking of those men. The incident on Sunday has led to renewed calls for people not to use inflatable toys at beaches. However, while we don't want to spoil anyone's fun, we have to urge people not to use inflatable toys on the beach as they are far too dangerous and unpredictable.'
