Photo: Shelley PascualEven people in Berlin haven't heard of this north German town less than three hours away. A great job marketWith a population of just over 250,000, Braunschweig is a liveable, medium-sized city. It's also a city where you could probably get by without speaking much German, though knowing the local language is very handy. A strong expat communityWhether Braunschweig is a welcoming city or not is an opinion that differs amongst foreigners I know. With regards to making German friends in Braunschweig, I've personally made conscious efforts but for reasons unknown, it's been rather tricky.
