This is Brann’s first ever game against FC Midtjylland in European competition and their first ever game against a Danish side. The last time a Norwegian side and Danish side met in major European competition was Molde and FC København in the 2012-13 UEFA Europa League – the Danish side won both games 2-1 in the group stage. After winning their first two home UEFA Europa League games this season by an aggregate score of 4-0 (1-0 vs FC Utrecht, 3-0 vs Rangers), Brann lost their last home game 4-0 to Fenerbahçe, their heaviest home European defeat since losing 7-0 to QPR in September 1976. FC Midtjylland have won five of their six UEFA Europa League matches this season (L1), the most by a Danish side in a major European season since FC København won five in 2021-22. No Danish club has won six matches in Europe in one campaign.
