Mr Ritter said while he was confident in his climbing abilities he was a little bit nervous climbing in front of his friends and family. Head judge Craig Webb said 25 men and five women were taking part in the competition across five disciplines. Three of the five events - work climb, tree rescue and throw line - were held yesterday and the final two events would be held today, Mr Webb said. A children’s climb and senior competition would also be held on the reserve today. The event is being held in conjunction with the association’s national conference also being held in Dunedin.
