Brampton man arrested after he live streamed himself with a fake gun

A man has been arrested after a live stream on social media led police to find evidence linking him to a robbery. Police were alerted on June 17 about a male filming himself live online with what appeared to be a firearm, says a news release from Peel police. Police executed a search warrant on the residence in Brampton where the live stream was filmed, and they found two replica firearms: an AK-47 and a handgun with magazine, says Peel police spokesperson Mark Fischer. Charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm were dropped, but during the search police found evidence to arrest one man in relation to the robbery of a Brampton convenience store that occurred on May 6. Troy Townsend, 26, has been charged with robbery.
