Brampton man, 37, drowns in Lake Muskoka swimming incident


Emergency crews responded to a distress call from a public beach in Gravenhurst around 4 p.m., according to the OPP. Three people had been on a swimming toy and were in distress after it had gone under water, police said. An adult woman and child were pulled from the water and taken to hospital, where they’re expected to recover. An OPP marine unit, along with officers from the aviation services and the underwater search and recovery unit, continued searching for a missing man, who was eventually located around 6 p.m. The man was pulled from the water, but life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.
