Despite treatment, her condition worsened and was declared brain dead on Friday night. As they readily agreed to donate her organs, the procedures stipulated by the Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu (TRANSTAN) was immediately initiated. Another kidney was donated to a patient at Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital while the liver was donated to a private hospital in Tiruchi. He noted that this was the second time that organs from a brain dead person were harvested at the GRH.
