“Brad Marchand went into the season playing on the fourth line, but the Little Ball of Hate shook off the rookie jitters,” Obama said. “What’s up with that nickname, man?” Obama added, looking over at Marchand as his teammates and other onlookers broke out in laughter. Marchand later fessed up that he almost blacked out upon hearing Obama refer to him that way. In Boston’s seven-game victory over the Vancouver Canucks in the 2011 Stanley Cup final, Marchand scored five goals. Julien certainly is happy to have Marchand back in the Bruins fold for many years to come.
