Brac University ranks 3rd in University Rover Challenge


BRACU Mongol-Tori scores 93 pointsBangladesh's Brac University has ranked third in this year's University Rover Challenge (URC), the world's premier robotics competition for college students. The team, BRACU Mongol-Tori, ranked the position jointly (93 points) with three other universities from Poland, Turkey, and the United States, the URC said on Saturday. Michigan Mars Rover Team and Stanford Student Robotics of the United States stood first and second with 96 and 94 points respectively in the competition, held annually in the country's southern Utah state. Later, the names of 36 teams were announced whose scores would have qualified for the finals. URC challenges student teams to design and build the next generation of Mars rovers that will one day work alongside astronauts exploring the red planet.
