An appeal against the planning permission granted to German superstore Aldi for Boyle has been met with disappointment by the chairperson of Boyle MD Cllr Sean Moylan. An appeal was lodged on Monday with An Coimisiún Pleanála by a third party against the permission granted by Roscommon County Council in January for a new Aldi Store in the town. Aldi hopes to create up to 30 permanent new jobs as part of its plans for the new store. Cllr Moylan told the Roscommon Herald, "I'm very disappointed about the decision that an appeal has been launched against the Aldi decision that Roscommon County Council made. I do feel that Roscommon County Council has a very robust planning system.
