Boy seriously injured in bull attack in rural Canterbury


Emergency services were called to the incident in Woodbury, near Geraldine about 12.35pm on Sunday. A seven-year-old boy is seriously injured after a bull jumped a fence and stomped on him in rural Canterbury. A 500 kilogram bull then jumped the fence and stomped on the boy leaving him with abdominal and rib injuries, he said. A St John spokeswoman said they received the call to the incident about 12.35pm and a rescue helicopter flew the boy, who was in a serious condition, to Christchurch Hospital. A police spokeswoman said she could not add any further details as police were not involved in the callout.
