KEPALA BATAS: The 16-month-old toddler, who slipped into a coma after being allegedly abused by his mother, succumbed to his injuries this morning. Seberang Prai Utara police chief Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the boy was pronounced dead at 10.45am at the Penang Hospital. The 26-year-old, whose visa expired in March, was arrested a day after the boy was admitted into the Kepala Batas Hospital. The boy also had bruises on his chest, left leg and under his left eye. A child specialist at the Kepala Batas Hospital later confirmed the serious injuries in the head were the impact from a blunt trauma against the forehead and right cheek.
