President Donald Trump’s speech at the Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree grabbed headlines around the world in recent days. Nearly 1,200 Texas scouts had joined their counterparts from around the nation — and the world — to experience a number of transformative moments over the 10-day event. The Jamboree, which occurs about once every four years, is a celebration of the Irving-based organization's commitment to adventure, service, conservation and providing youth with life-changing experiences. A religious center featured Scouts of different religions explaining their beliefs and practices. It also included a water obstacle course, skate park, climbing challenge course and 36 miles of mountain-biking trails.
