Jared (Manchester by the Sea’s Lucas Hedges) is a teen repressing his homosexuality for his peers and strict Baptist family. Nicole Kidman offers heartfelt support as his mother Nancy, who faces her own journey towards enlightenment. The only issue with Boy Erased is that in some places the film is poorly structured. Verdict: Boy Erased is a noble drama based on a heart-wrenching true story and the talented cast makes sure to bring the tears to the audience’s eyes. Boy Erased is in UK Cinemas now.
