A 9-year-old boy died Wednesday in Ocean City after falling from a boat and being hit by its propeller, police said. 4, 17 people were on a pontoon boat rented from Under the Bridge Watersports, Maryland Natural Resources Police said in a statement. A passing tour boat with two nurses, an emergency medical technician and two out-of-state, off-duty state troopers stopped to help and tried to resuscitate the boy but were unsuccessful, the statement said. Maryland Natural Resources Police said the pontoon boat’s operator had minimal boating experience. Reached by phone, an employee of Under the Bridge Watersports who declined to give a name said the company’s thoughts were with Kaden Frederick’s family but declined further comment.
