A 4 year-old boy was on Sunday night killed in a fire incident at Riruta, Nairobi. In April, several people were left homeless at Mukuru kwa Njenga following a fire that burnt 30 structures. Separately, several people were left homeless in Mathare and Mukuru slums after a fire that began on Sunday night gutted their homes. In the same month, nearly 100 people were left homeless in a similar incident at Mukuru kwa Reuben slum. In March, close to 500 families were left homeless in a fire at the area.
