Police are investigating an incident in which a three-year-old boy drowned in a family borehole in a village in Magwagwa, Nyamira. The incident happened in Kiamanyomba village where the mother of the child had opened the borehole to draw water on Monday evening. The man removed the body and their efforts to resuscitate him did not bear fruits, police said. It is suspected that the deceased might have accidentally slipped into the borehole while the mother was busy doing household chores. Police were called to the scene and removed the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.
