Rufo Chacon, 16, was injured when the authorities shot into a crowd of protesters in Andean city, Venezuela, on July 2. His 14-year-old brother, Adrian, and another child also suffered head injuries at the demonstration, which was organised over cooking gas shortages. Two officers have been charged with attempted murder, improper use of a weapon and cruel treatment, following the chaos. Rufo went to the demonstration with his brother and mum to protest about the lack of cooking gas in their region. Fortunately, Rufo has received offers of help from around the world after a picture of his injuries went viral online.
