The Wandering Earth began its second Fri-Sun weekend in China with a $26.55 million Friday gross. An overall 50% drop for the weekend would give the blockbuster sci-fi/outer-space adventure a $90.2m-Sun frame and a new Chinese total (after 13 days) of $562m. That's obviously 99% less than many a Hollywood blockbuster has earned in China, but you knew that. It merely means that The Wandering Earth probably won't be in any danger of hitting $1 billion, especially with (fingers crossed) Alita: Battle Angel making a splash next Friday. We'll see if Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars Episode IX's respective domestic totals can match wherever Wandering Earth ends up in China.
