Venom has now earned more money in unadjusted global grosses than Wonder Woman and Spider-Man. It passed Mission: Impossible – Fallout ($792 million) to become the year’s fifth-biggest movie in global grosses. Once again, superhero movies are the biggest of the big when it comes to tentpole flicks. Once again, Sony was right to make a Venom movie and right to go with the PG-13. We can presume that the movie Sony dated for Oct. 2, 2020, is Venom 2, which will pit Hardy’s Eddie Brock against Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady.
