Lionsgate and Summit’s Robin Hood is a domestic disaster, even if it isn’t quite worthy of the slew of “bomb of the year” headlines that I’m already seeing. Robin Hood opened with $9.125 million over its Fri-Sun frame and $14.215m over its Wed-Sun Thanksgiving debut. Robin Hood is the year’s most predictable box office miss, as it follows two formulas. If Solo couldn’t make it work, then Robin Hood was all-but-destined to die badly like King Arthur, Pan and (relatively speaking) The Legend of Tarzan. Whether or not it does better when it opens in much of the world next weekend is an open question.
